Yari’s group member gives 120 students scholarships to Togo varsity

The AbdulAziz Yari faction of the All Progressives Congress in Zamfara state has vowed to restore the state’s lost glory if given the chance again by electorates in 2023.

The Chairman of the faction, Lawal  Liman, made the declaration while presenting admission letters to 120 students sponsored by one of the stakeholders, Dr Dauda Dare, to study various educational disciplines at the Iheris University, Lome, Republic of Togo.

Speaking at the event, which took place on Sunday in Gusau, the chairman, who stood in for Yari said, “Yari performed wonderfully during his eight-year rule as a result of his good manifesto, which he planned in 2009.”

He lamented the current state of affairs in almost all the sectors of human endeavours in Zamfara State.

He lauded Dare for sponsoring the 120 students to study abroad.

Meanwhile, Yari, has started campaigning for the national championship position of the All Progressives Congress.

The campaign, which was inaugurated on Sunday in Gusau, was organised by the Senator Kabiru Marafa’s faction of the APC under a body called, ‘Marafiya Amana’.

Speaking at the campaign inauguration, the state’s Chairman of the Marafa faction of the party, Alhaji Sirajo Maikatako, said members were solidly behind Yari’s ambition of becoming the national chairman of the APC.

Maikatako said Yari and the Marafa faction of the APC in the state were working in unison to ensure the success of the former governor.

“I want to bring to the notice of every APC member in the country that Yari has all what it takes to be our next national chairman, considering his track records both as the governor of Zamfara State and the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum,” he stated.
