Writing with pen develops students’ cognitive reasoning —Firm

BIC Nigeria has said allowing learners to write with a pen will help develop their cognitive reasoning and creative expression.

Speaking at a media parley, General Manager at BIC Nigeria, Guillaume Groues, explained that it was not possible to move to a paperless office.

‘’ Cognitive aspect of using pen reports that for a child to learn, it is much better to use a pen to write, it helps them to learn faster than using a computer. You can express your creativity with the pen.

“We are delighted to be present in Nigeria today; a young population, and the number one economy and pan market in Africa. We are investing in the country, from job creation to youth empowerment, to supporting education and environmental sustainability. We have a lot more to achieve in Nigeria in the years to come and we look forward to being close to our consumers on our journey in this prosperous market.”

Senior Vice President and General Manager at BIC Middle East and Africa, Peter Van de Broeck, said, ‘‘ We have self-coloring books, adult coloring books. People want to be creative and expressive they do not want to be on the computer always. I write a lot, if you want to remember something or you were doing longer exams, you have to write it.

‘‘Through its BIC Cristal Pen Awards program which recognises educators for their creative and innovative approaches to education, BIC recognised Mr.Opeifa Olasukanmi last year, a Nigerian teacher with over a decade of experience and passion for English literacy. Mr. Opeifa was awarded BIC stationery products and a EUR 5,000 grant to his school. These initiatives stem from the company’s commitment to improve learning conditions for 250 million students by the year 2025. To date, BIC has impacted 161 million students.

Also, General Manager at BIC Middle East, North Africa, West and Central Africa, Abderahmane Fall, said, ”BIC has also announced its commitment to sustainability and its goal to improve its environmental footprint by 2025 – as part of its ‘Writing the Future, Together’ sustainable development program which was launched in 2018.”
