The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), has received a N1 billion educational grant. The Abdul Samad Rabiu (ASR) Africa Initiative granted the institution the educational grant. The grant is geared towards the development of a centre for innovation and product development. It is aimed at encouraging and enhancing entrepreneurship and enterprise at the university.
The Chairman, ASR Africa, Aliyu Hong disclosed through a statement that the grant awarded to UNIMAID is one in a total of six grants under its Tertiary Education Grants Scheme. University of Ibadan and Ahmadu Bello University have also been awarded similar grants.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Shugaba has commended the grantor, Abdul Samad Rabiu for his consistency to social good. He has also applauded his commitment to corporate social responsibility.
