Nigeria has been eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations following a narrow 1-0 defeat to Tunisia in the round of 16 clash at the Roumde Adjia Stadium on Sunday.
After a goalless first half, Midfielder Youssef Msakni’s long range strike just two minutes after the restart broke the deadlock.
It also proved to be the winning goal as Nigeria were later reduced to 10 men following substitute’s Alex Iwobi’s red card for a stomp on an opponent and the Eagles struggled to break the Tunisia defence.
Nigeria’s exit at the hands of Tunisia ended the team’s run of three consecutive wins in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Tunisia had won only one game in the tournament and the team was had reported 7 players were not available for the game due to COVID-19.
