The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday released the names of governorship candidates for the November 6 Anambra governorship election with the name of former Centra Bank of Nigeria Governor (CBN) , Chukwuma Soludo missing as it also skipped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Soludo had won the primary election on the factional candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Professor Chukwuma Soludo. He was produced by the faction loyal to Governor Willie Obiano.
This was revealed by the Commission in a statement by its National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye. Concerning the exclusion of the PDP, Okoye cited a Court Order.
Then latest development has left the fate of both Soludo and the PDP hanging. Although the Commission cleared the candidate of the other APGA faction Chukwuma Micheal Umeoji for the poll.
