The Association of Quantity Surveyors in Public Service has said it is looking to strengthen collaborations with allied professionals in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness in its service to the public.
The Zonal Director, AQSPS, Fausat Ajibade, stated this during a two-day working visit of the national executives of the association which also featured the official launch of its Lagos State branch.
Speaking during the address, Ajibade expressed optimism that the launch of the Lagos State chapter of the association would inspire other states of the federation to follow suit.
He said, “As we strive for a great Nigeria, we understand that the actualisation of every policy is brought about by professionals who carry out both the specifics and the general requirements of the civil service.
“As quantity surveyors, working with other allied professionals, capacity development is essential to evolving situations and trends in the construction industry to foster the specific objectives of the various Ministries, Department and Agencies which we all represent.”
He added that the two-day working visit was intended as a means of collaboration between Quantity Surveyors at the different tiers of promote knowledge exchange, provide a platform for representation of the Quantity Surveyors within the Public Service and honour retiring Senior Officers.
