Reports coming in say the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders may on Thursday decide the fate of the party’s embattled National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus
This is goign to lead to PDP Governors’ meeting on Wednesday in Abuja, as they will deliberate and take a position on the festering leadership crisis rocking the party. Decisions to be taken at the governors meeting are expected to be presented to stakeholders at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled to hold on Thursday.
The Director-General of the PDP Governors Forum, C.I.D Maduabum, in a statement said the meeting will discuss party matters and strategies to reposition the PDP ahead of the NEC meeting.
“The PDP Governors Forum has reassured members, stakeholders and the nation of their commitment, determination and loyalty in the patriotic task of dislodging the incumbent All Progressives Congress (APC) administration, that has brought nothing but misery and pain to all Nigerians,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, a statement signed by the National Secretary of the PDP, Senator Umar Tsauri, says the National Campaign Council for the November 6 Anambra state governorship election will be inaugurated during the open session of the NEC meeting.
The two meetings are being called following what appeared a stalemate in the ongoing peace talks over the party’s leadership crisis.
