The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Walid Jibrin, on Wednesday, inaugurated the newly constructed Dambam General Hospital, constructed by the Bauchi State at the cost of N330 million.
Speaking while inaugurating the project, Jibrin commended the governor for his achievements in various sectors since his emergence in 2019.
He expressed optimism that with Bala Mohammed as governor of the state, “I believe, Bauchi State will never go backward again. I want to appeal to the people of Bauchi State, to give the governor maximum support and cooperation always.”
He added, “It is my belief that this hospital that we are inaugurating today, will not only be a place for the treatment of the sick but a center for training nurses and midwives. I hope that in future, it will be a center for the training of young doctors.
“I commend Bauchi State governor for providing this hospital for the improvement of the health of the state believing that this hospital will meet the needs of the people of Bauchi. The hospital should be a reference for other hospitals and clinics throughout the country.
“I want to congratulate the governor for his hard work and concern for the health of the generality of the people of the state.
In his speech, Mohammed stated that 10 residential houses were also built for the doctors and health workers along with the edifice.
According to him, the current PDP in Bauchi has, “since inception over two and a half years ago, lived up to the ideals that define the PDP as a people-oriented political party, a party that does not deceive, a party that does not delude, a party that has provided all the infrastructure and services for the last 20 years and after it left, nothing has been added again.
“Health is wealth, we have, therefore, been able to give the sector the priority it deserves. We are gathered here today to witness the inauguration of the general hospital, Dambam, as one of the attestations of our commitment to using small resources to do so much at the same time.
“Since we came on board, we partnered with the Federal Government and renovated 192 healthcare facilities across the state and they are all functioning.”
