Chubbiedivah, a woman who falsely accused Nigerian singer Rudeboy (Paul Okoye) of rape, has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
The controversy began in September 2025 when Chubbiedivah made the allegations on X (formerly Twitter), claiming Rudeboy coerced or sexually assaulted a domestic worker in his household. Rudeboy strongly denied the allegations and vowed to pursue legal action.
Chubbiedivah was arrested on November 6, 2025, and arraigned in court on November 10, 2025. Despite deleting her X account and initially fleeing, she was eventually tracked down and charged with defamation. Reports indicate she experienced health issues while in detention, leading to her release on compassionate grounds, but she failed to appear for subsequent court hearings.
Rudeboy’s determination to clear his name led to Chubbiedivah’s arrest and prosecution. The case has sparked widespread debate on social media, highlighting issues of celebrity reputation, social media allegations, and legal accountability.
