The Osun State Government on Friday said it would enrol 30, 000 vulnerable youths that would be drawn from across the state into its health insurance scheme.
The also announced the commencement of registration for the fifth batch of Osun Youth Employment Scheme, also known as ‘O YES Scheme.’
Addressing newsmen in Osogbo, the state Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr Olayemi Lawal, said despite the enormous benefits of the health insurance scheme, the youths, who constitute a greater percentage of the state’s population, were yet to be fully integrated into the scheme.
“In order to address this, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, who is a lover of the youth, directed that 30,000 vulnerable youth drawn from all the local areas of the state to be enrolled under the Osun Health Insurance Scheme.
“The enrollment of 30,000 vulnerable youths in all the local in the state shall be as follows: Distribution of Osun Health Insurance Scheme forms to the vulnerable youth through local chairmen; capturing and documentation of vulnerable youth beneficiaries in each of local in the state by the Osun Health Insurance Scheme team; inauguration ceremony of 30,000 vulnerable youths into Osun State Health Insurance Scheme to be presided over by Mr Governor, at a later date.”
