Ola Aina isn’t bitter about losing his place in Torino’s squad in the second half of last season.
Aina who was a key player for both Club and Country, prioritize the national team over his struggling Club in January last season.
The former Chelsea man start started the 2021-2022 campaign as first choice Right-back, before traveling to Cameroon to represent Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations.
However, he lost his place after returning from the tournament and was never considered for selection until towards the end of the season.
“I think there should be a middle ground. Obviously, as players, we understand that while we are away, the team have to adapt and other players may take their opportunities, and that’s understandable and acceptable because we are not there.
“In my case, that’s what happened. Someone took their opportunity, and they did very well, and that’s just the nature of the game,” Aina told BBC Africa Sports.
