The chairman of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrashedd Bawa has said he is fine after he slumped at the Aso Villa.
Bawa, who received medical attention over the matter was advised to take a lot of water because he was dehydrated. According to a statement from the commission, he “is due back at his desk”.
The incident happened while speaking on the importance of digital identification in commemoration of National Identity Day. Bawa became emotional as he was talking about the death of an unnamed employee of the commission during his speech.
He was said to have continued his speech but later stopped and walked off the stage to take his seat.
He fell shortly after sitting down. The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Panatami, and others immediately rushed the EFCC boss out of the hall.
Mr Pantami thereafter returned to the hall and informed the attendees that the EFCC boss was in stable condition, and the event continued.
Speaking on Channels TV politics Today, monitored by Newsbreakers, Bawa said he has returned to work.
“The doctors checked me and see nothing wrong with me. They said I was dehydrated and needed to take a lot of water.
