How Super Eagles rate vs Guinea Bissau – Score Nigeria

The Super Eagles maintained a 100% record at the AFCON in Cameroon after a 2-0 win over Guinea Bissau tonight.

SCORENigeria rates the individual performances of this mostly experimental team.

7 Francis Uzoho

He posted a clean sheet on his first start at this AFCON after making at least two big saves. He will most certainly be pushing Maduka Okoye for the No 1 shirt on the strength of tonight’s showing.

6.5 Jamilu Collins

Defended and attacked well, but we need to do a lot more to match the standards of direct rival Zaidu Sanusi, who was rested for this match.

6.5 Tyronne Ebuehi

Looked interesting when he pushed forward and behind the opposing defence.

7 William Ekong

The stand-in captain scored his first-ever goal for the Super Eagles and was again effective even when playing with a new partner in Semi Ajayi.

8 MAN OF MATCH Semi Ajayi

The late squad addition made a very strong case himself with an outstanding performance both in defence as well as when he joined the attack. He made a big block in the 86th minute to deny Guinea Bissau the first goal at the AFCON. He ought to have done better with his header off a corner in the 15th minute. Kenneth Omeruo must watch his back!

7 Wilfred Ndidi

Still a classy performer even in this experimental side. He did the dirty stuff in the middle of the park without any fuss. Top class.

7 Kelechi Nwakali

He created from the middle, something that has been missing in the Super Eagles for some time. He can only build on this performance as he works to establish himself in the national team.

6 Alex Iwobi

He played on the wings again before he later played behind the striker, which is clearly his more preferred position. Joe Aribo is ahead of him currently and he will have to work his socks off to reclaim his first-team shirt.

6 Chidera Ejuke

He was able cut down on excessive dribbles and tried to help out back in defence on a couple of occasions.

7 Kelechi Iheanacho

He assisted for the opening goal by Sadiq Umar and enjoyed his role playing behind the top striker. He along with Ekong and Ndidi is the spine of the Eagles in Cameroon.

6 Sadiq Umar

He finally got his first goal in the Super Eagles shirt, even though he could have at least netted a brace but for poor decision making in the 24th minute. He can only be a cover for Taiwo Awoniyi in Cameroon.

5 Peter Olayinka

He is the third top striker on the squad. He had enough minutes to prove himself and should have done more.

Moses Simon

7 Moses Simon

His entry changed the dynamics of this game as he forced the opposing defence to be wary of joining their attack. His mazy dribble runs made life uncomfortable for Guinea Bissau and he was only unlucky not to crown one of those solo runs with a super goal.

5 Frank Onyeka

Decent performance. His defensive qualities will be needed when the team have to kill off a game.

5 Olisa Ndah

He was composed and good on the ball playing at rightback.
