Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State met with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, reportedly to discuss security concerns in Bauchi, particularly bandit activities in Alkaleri local government area.
The meeting comes as Mohammed faces pressure from PDP defections to APC.
President Tinubu is currently holding a closed-door meeting with Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State at the presidential villa, and Bala is the strongest stronghold of the PDP and his meeting with Tinubu is the most unlikely expectations. Remnants of PDP are probably waiting anxiously for the snippets from the meeting.
DAILY POST learnt that the governor was in Aso Rock to brief the president on the security situation in Bauchi State.
Bauchi has recently experienced some disturbances in parts of the state.
The governor particularly updated the President on the disturbing activities of bandits in the Alkaleri local government area of the state, which requires timely attention.
Bala Mohammed, who addressed the state House correspondents on the recent happenings in the political arena, particularly, the wave of defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, said the defectors have their freedom to move to any party of their choice.
However, the governor maintains his stand to remain in the opposition party.
