Four commuters travelling along the Ilesa-Akure Expressway have lost their lives in a multiple road accident.

No fewer than 15 people were injured in the crash, which occurred on Tuesday about five kilometres away from the Ikeji Arakeji Junction.

The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps, Osun State, Agnes Ogungbemi, said the accident occurred around 10.45pm.

She explained that the crash, which involved a bus and a trailer, was caused by speed limit violation.

“Two vehicles, a bus and a trailer, were involved. Fifteen people — 14 males and one female — were injured. Four people, all males, were killed in the multiple crashes.

“The injured victims were taken to the Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa, while corpses were also deposited in the mortuary of the same hospital,” Ogungbemi added.
