The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn in Group A and will face Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau and São Tomé and Principe or Mauritius in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Completesports.com reports.
The draw was conducted by Bafana Bafana African egends, former South Africa defender Lucas Radebe and ex Côte d’Ivoire forward Solomon Kalou.
The Eagles faced Sierra Leone during qualifiers for the 2021 AFCON with the first in Benin City ending 4-4 while the second leg in Freetown was a goalless affair.
At the last AFCON in Cameroon, the Eagles defeated Guinea-Bissau 2-0 in their last group game.

Also, they will take on either Sao Tome and Principe or Mauritius in Group A.
Mauritius protested their 4-3 aggregate defeat to Sao Tome and Principe, during the preliminary round and the outcome of a disciplinary hearing will decide which of the two teams will face the Eagles and the two other teams in Group A.
The qualifiers for the 2023 AFCON will commence in June with the first two teams expected to pick the ticket for the tournament.
Hosts, Cote d’ Ivoire, will also take part in the qualifiers, even though they have already secured their place in the tournament which means only one team from their group will qualify.
