On Sunday, 16th of April, 2021, the NCDC disclosed via its Twitter handle that it recorded only seven coronavirus cases, the lowest in the country since the start of the pandemic.

This came up after 41 cases were recorded just the day before on Saturday, 15th of April, 2021. Additionally, there were no novel COVID-19 deaths across the country on Sunday.

However, the agency still stressed the need to maintain COVID-19 protocols and get vaccinated.

“Wear a face mask, maintain physical distance and wash your hands regularly. We have to avoid non-essential outings, large gatherings and contact with anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19,” the NCDC said.
