Ifeanyichukwu Ibezi, the All Progressives Grand Alliance Candidate in the just concluded House of Representatives Elections for Idemili North and South Federal Constituency has just been announced winner by the INEC Returning Officer, polling a total of 29, 566 votes to defeat PDP’s Chidoka who polled 26, 026 votes to come second in the closely contested election.
Recall that the election was declared inconclusive after the February 23rd General Elections, as the winning margin of the APGA candidate was lesser than total number of registered voters in the areas where election was cancelled, thereby prompting the rerun which was held on March 9.
Declaring Ibezi winner of the election at the Constituency Collation Centre in Ogidi, Prof. Alex C. Asigbo, the constituency Returning officer said the election was conducted. “That Ibezi Ifeanyi Anthony of APGA having satisfied the requirements of the law and polled the highest number of votes is hereby declared winner and returned”.
Speaking to his supporters immediately after he was declared winner, Ibezi thanked everyone for their immense support and for the faith they reposed in him. He promised to never relent in keeping his campaign promises as contained in his Manifesto.
