“Today marks the beginning of our march to a new dawn. You are here because you believe in change, because you believe that Akwa Ibom must be taken to the next level.
“The change we are bringing to Akwa Ibom will be anchored on five pillars: It shall be anchored on the economic prosperity of Akwa Ibom.
“For a start, we shall enable the economy by investing in public works to thrive and create enabling environment for investment. We shall invest in education, health and social protection.
“With all the endowments that God has given us, we shall banish poverty in this state and build on the achievements of past governors.
“Campaigns should be about performance. Please do not bring divisions among Akwa Ibom people.
“Let us be careful that politics does not divide us as a people. Politics is not about religion; preach peace, unity, hard work; stop lying and spreading lies over the state and causing problems,” Ekere said.
Ekere assured Akwa Ibom people that his government would introduce reforms that would lead to prosperity.
The APC governorship candidate urged political parties operating in the state not to bring division in through their campaigns.
He said: “Please do not bring division to Akwa Ibom State during your campaigns.
“Let us be careful to ensure that politics does not divide us,” he said.
