No fewer than five persons have been killed by suspected herdsmen at Arimogija community in the Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.
This is coming four days after the herdsmen attacked Molege village, in the same Ose LGA, killing three people and burning several houses.
According to an eyewitness, those killed in the Monday attack were youths in the community.
He said, “They attacked the people working on the farm and killed two of them. It was those injured in the first attack that called other villagers for help, and while those who went to rescue them were trying to take the injured back home for treatment, the herdsmen appeared again and killed three more people.”
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident, but did not give details.
She said, “I am yet to get the details from the Divisional Police Officer in the area. I will give the details as soon as I get them.”
Similarly, the Commander of the Ondo Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adeyeye, said his men stationed at Molege village were informed about the attack and rushed to the area, adding that they were trailing the bandits in the forest.
