Adamawa police arrest three over threats to kidnap businessmen

The police in Adamawa state have arrested three persons over the attempted kidnap of three businessmen.

City Round learnt that the suspects had through an unregistered mobile line threatened one Alhaji Ibrahim Bayo, Alhaji Abdulkarim Bayo and Alhaji Bala Hamman, all residents of Mayo Belwa and Ganye local areas, to give them the sum N10 million or be kidnapped.

 The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, said the businessmen later reported threats coming from unknown subscribers using separate phone numbers.

“Three suspects, Maigari Adamu, 24; Usman Ali, 20; and Awal Hammawa, 31, were apprehended using the Rescue Me app,” Nguroje added.

He added that those arrested and their collaborators would be brought to book.
